  • Hygiene and Preventive Care

Having good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. New links to your overall health are being confirmed all the time. Our comprehensive approach ensures you will look and feel great! In addition to regular cleanings we offer:

  • Sealants

Natural colored materials that are placed on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth help shield out decay-causing bacteria.

  • Periodontics

Our team will care for the supporting tissues and structures of teeth (gums, bone and the periodontal ligaments) to promote the health of these structures and to prevent periodontal disease (periodontitis).

  • Children's Dentistry

Every child deserves a great smile. From the time your children grow their first tooth our team can help care for and protect their smile. Caring for children is very different from caring for adults. We will help insure each visit your child makes is a great experience.

  • Invisalign®

The modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created just for you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth to gradually and gently shift your teeth into the perfect smile. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. Invisalign can help you achieve the confident smile that you've always wanted and no one else needs to know! Visit our Invisalign page or the Invisalign website for more information.

    What is a Dental Implant?

A Dental Implant often takes the form of a small, screw-shaped titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. The surgical procedure to place an implant is quite minor and routine, requiring only local anesthesia in most cases.

After healing, the implant is topped with a lifelike crown custom-made to match your existing natural teeth. Implants have a documented success rate of over 95% - significantly better than any other tooth-replacement option.

  • How Implants Work

Your dental implant is inserted directly into the jawbone in the space vacated by the missing tooth. It is then allowed to heal for some months before the final crown is attached. During this healing period, the implant fuses to the bone surrounding it.

  • Caring for Your Implant

There are only two ways an implant can lose attachment to the bone once it has successfully fused: poor oral hygiene or excessive biting force.

Poor oral hygiene and/or lack of regular cleanings can cause a destructive bacterial infection calling peri-implantitis. Daily flossing and brushing your teeth – along with regular professional cleanings – can prevent this.

Excessive biting force can come from either clenching or grinding your teeth, or placement of too few implants to handle the force generated by your bite. Receiving the correct number of implants will insure this doesn’t occur.

  • Oral Surgery

Jilek Family Dentistry now offers an IV sedation option for a wide range of oral surgery procedures, from extractions to implants. Unlike general anesthesia, IV sedation allows consciousness to be reduced to a “semi-awake” state rather than fully asleep. The patient remains aware, but anxiety is dramatically reduced.

  • Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Occasionally, wisdom teeth will grow in a manner that can cause serious health problems and thus need to be removed. This procedure is not uncommon, but can cause patients a great deal of anxiety. IV sedation is an excellent option in such cases, minimizing both pain and recovery time.

  • Sedation Dentistry

50% of people admit to experiencing anxiety at the thought of a dental appointment. One in six will even avoid seeing a Dentist because of it!

To ease that anxiety, we offer sedation methods that help patients relax during dental treatment. Unlike general anesthesia – complete unconsciousness – IV sedation “reduces” consciousness. Patients aren’t so much asleep as they are “semi-awake.”

This state leaves them deeply relaxed and completely safe as common procedures such as a root canal or wisdom tooth extraction are completed.
