About the Dentist

Spencer S. Jilek DDS
 
Dr. Jilek has been a lifelong resident of Pasco. He was born at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and grew up in Pasco. He attended St Patrick’s School and graduated from Pasco High. After High School he attended Gonzaga University in Spokane and received a BS degree in Biology in 1977. After college he attended the University of Washington Dental School and graduated in 1981. Spence has been in private practice here in Pasco ever since.

Spence is married to Jane who he met as a freshman at Gonzaga. The Jilek’s have two children Mary Ellen who will graduate from Gonzaga in 2008, with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising and David who will be a freshman at GU in the fall. Both Mary Ellen and David graduated from Tri-Cities Prep here in Pasco

Dr Jilek has been very active in the Tri-Cities Community having served as President of the Pasco Chamber, Pasco Kiwanis and the Tri-Cities Water Follies Association. He was inducted into the Pasco High School Hall of Fame in 2002. He was the chairman of the Bond committee which pushed for the restoration of the Franklin County Courthouse. Spence is also very active at both Tri-Cities Prep, where he serves on the board of directors, and at St Patrick’s Parish and School where he is currently Chair of the Finance Council and on the Parish Council. 

Spence has been very active serving on committees for the Washington State Dental Association and is currently President of the Washington Dental Insurance Agency an offshoot of the state association. He was inducted as a Fellow in both the American and International College of Dentists. Dr. Jilek has also been active trying to improve the oral health of our community having helped obtain the funding for the City of Pasco to add equipment to fluoridate the water system in 1998.
